FINAL IMED 2014 VIDEO LINK:

Blog post #13 Add blog entry discussing and summarizing your efforts.

I created a video/slideshow of pictures of my friends and I throughout our entire two years here at RCHS. I admit, I am going to really miss this place. I have created some amazing bonds with all my new friends that I have made at this school. From the countless hours of studying, to the trips we made all over town during out hour long breaks, I will cherish the memories I have created with my friends here at RCHS. I have tried to find as many pictures that I have of my friends and I, and I hope you enjoy it! I added music and effects to it as well!

I am very satisfied with how my website turned out. I am glad that I had the oppurtunity to work with amazing teachers throughout my Senior year in IMED, who have helped me realize I can do so much more on a computer than I would've thought of. I used WIX to create my website, and changed the template design and color to match my poster. I was very pleased with he outcome and thought it all looked very nice together!

 Identify timeline for project:
What assets do you need to create? I needed to create visual presentation which I did, all that was left was creating my little glasses and adding some decorations to them. I enjoyed this process!
Identify a practical timeline for creating assets (sound, art, etc). I finished my poster in February, and Printed it out the week of April (capstone week). I published my website that week too, and completed my end product April 9th.
Mid-February- Finished Poster
March 23rd finished my website!
April 10th- Completed and saved my end product, let it dry over night
April 17- presented my Capstone

Critique two other proposals from other students.

On the night of capstone, I saw Tania's presentation, and Safia's presentation. They were both amazing!! Tanias was about a retainer that would beep once connected to an app, if you have been certain feet away from it, and safias was about eating healthy! Great Projects! They presented well, had nice apps/websites/posters, and knew what they were talking about!

Blog Post #9 D. Why did you not choose a different technology?

D. Why did you not choose a different technology?

Because I am completely use to using videos and website, especially since I have taken IMED this year, it would only make sense to use what I have been offered the oppurtunity to learn. I also had my glasses on display, so it wasnt just the website and poster.

What technologies will you use and why.

I used the computer, and Photoshop a lot for my project. I created the poster on Photoshop, and my website on WIX. I had a little trouble in the beginning because I had used DreamWeaver and changed to WIX, but overall, I think WIX is very user friendly, and simple to use. It creates a simple and nice designed template, and helps the readers of the website understand the simplest of ideas!

-P.S. DreamWeaver is very hard to use, glad you let us use WIX instead. Thanks Professor Martinez!

Have you gained additional experience that affects your choice of media?

YES! I have gained a tremendous amount of information that I have learned from IMED this year. I have learned how to create a website successfully, which helped me with the decision in choosing to do a website as part of my end product fir my senior capstone project!
-I enjoyed making websites, movies, posters, and just several other things to do with media!

C. Blog entry – brief summary of your efforts.

C- I basically put in information about what my career is, and what my capstone is going to be focusing on. It will be targeted towards kids who get bullied for wearing glasses. I had fun making this website, its cool knowing you are capable of creating something like that. I created my website layout, and all the other things on Dreamweaver. It got a little complicated but I worked around it. I am not yet finished with the project or website just yet, there are still many things that need to be put in, and I have not yet finalized my solution. But, as for now, I am happy with the work I have put into the website.

Blog post #4 Video Summary

Blog entry – brief summary of your efforts.

I plan on using pictures of kids with glasses, and putting my information over the pictures. I did this all on iMovie, it wasn't too hard. I put related sounds to the video as well. I probably will change it up a little before the actual capstone presentation. I probably will add more information, or change the pictures up. Luckily, iMovie made it really easy for me to create the video. I did it in a time period of about two days, although I could've finished it in a few hours, I decided to divide the work up over two days!

I plan on using Adobe Premiere, because I am familiar with the software. If it doesnt work out I will use windows movie maker because it is simple to use, but offers a lot. Adobe Premiere is more advanced and can get confusing.

My idea is to have several pictures, put together into a type of slide-show video. I dont want to create and actual video because it seems irrelevant. I dont even know what I would do if I were to make a video. I think the picture video will be more effective.

Discuss look and feel issues:
a) Will your presentation use comedy and humor or is it serious? b) What colors, fonts, design layouts, graphs, photographs and other imagery are
appropriate for the topic? c) How is your site, video and print material persuasive? d) Post support materials. e) How do you make your point of view understood? f) Are you intending to create:
i. a resource for children hospital using bright cheerful colors ii. a clean corporate economic presentation with shades of blue iii. an industrial prototype of an energy efficient car iv. an essay on the seriousness of world hunger v. a presentation a low cholesterol diet with pictures of vegetables and fruit

A) My presentation may include a little something fun, because it is targeted towards kids. But, it will for the most part, be serious.
B) I plan on using the colors green, red, white, and black. As they match with my website & poster, and attract the attention of children, without making it seem too tacky/childish. I plan on putting clip arts and using kid friendly fonts, to make it more entertaining.
C) My website is very nice, includes detailed, yet concise, information. Also, it matches the colors of my poster, and include images and backgrounds that fit the topic. I have not yet started or thought of my video, but hopefully itll come out as good as the poster and website.
D) Post support material- Pictures, child friendly event, interaction with kids. I will use a laptop, board, and keep things very simple.
E) I will present my project, and talk about how kids get bullied for wearing spectacles. I will keep it simple, and to the point. Hopefully my website, poster board, and video will be of an effect as well.
F) I am intending to create: i

Capstone Project Statement of Intent:
a) Identify the goals of the project. b) Why is it important and why should we care? c) How do these goals fit with your career objectives? d) How does your project give back to society? e) Address the Richland triple bottom line.

A) To raise awareness over the topic that children get bullied for wearing glasses, when having bad eyesight isn't in their control.
B) It is important because children should not feel insecure for having bad eyesight, because it isn't something to be ashamed of. We should all try to make these kids feel like its okay to have bad eye sight, and that they shouldn't feel bad about it.
C) I plan on becoming an Opthamologist when I grow up, and I want all my patients in the future, to not feel ashamed about having bad eyesight, also, to stop bullying.
D) My project gives back to society by raising awareness about the subject, and possibly being the first step to once and for all, stop bullying that goes on towards kids who wear glasses.
E) Basically, it addresses the help that we can give towards our environment. It is a way of making Richland more "green", for which environmental sustainability is a way of life for the students and staff here.
